Fashion

      On 12th Monday, we learn about "fashion". The teacher taught and gave the worksheet to us and I read the information and description of six articles in it.

 I did pre-reading about fashion such as fishnet stockings, high heels, halter top, etc. And next I used skimming skill to read about "Fashion? Confusion" and then summarized each paragraphs and write it on the whiteboard.

I did the activity about vocabulary by looking at the picture and solve the program about hair style.

After that, she told us to discuss about the style our my favorite superstar with classmate. I thought that pre-reading was easy for me because it easy to get and I think summarizing of each paragraph was very difficult but I tried to solve it by discussing with my friends.

In this class I used the previewing, skimming, scanning, reading for detail, and guessing for reading.

Today's technology ( continue )

      On 5th Monday, the teacher continue taught us about today's technology. First, The teacher told us  to write about the internet application that we use to improve our English skills on the whiteboard and she told me to write about "What are advantages and disadvantages of using the internet?" and explaine it to your friends.

 After that she gave the handout to us. It was about "Researchers worry as teens grow up online". And summarized it.


I did activities in the handout.

First : Marking each statement Researchers's opinion and reading the detail to find the answers.

Second : Finding the word that matching with the meaning. Used guessing the meaning to find the answers.

Third : matching each shorthand term with its meaning.

And we had a Quiz 1 for testing.

      I think the writing the paraphrase was easy because I like to swap the words and check its grammar and structures.
      I think that the skimming was difficult because I didn't attention and concentrate about it at all. I solve this problem by asking the teacher and discussing with my friends

In this class I used the skimming, scanning, previewing, and reading for detail for reading.

ANSWER THE QUESTION

1.How much time spent online to you think is too much? Why?

- I think the time to spent online to me are  4 hours. Because it will cause my health to be bad in the future.

2.Do you think that everything can be communicated by e-mail? or are some things very said face-to-face? What examples can you give?

- I think communicating in network can't catch enough feeling. Face to face is better way to socialize together because we can see to each other.

3.Would it bigger you if people must to you online about their age or appearance?  Why it why not?

- No, it wouldn't. I don't care or worry about it.

Today's technology!!

            On 29th Monday, We learned about "Today's technology. We talk about technology enhancing English learning . And the teacher picked someone up to share the opinion in front of the class. After that, we did an activity that writing the words about technology enhancing English on the whiteboard.

       After that, We read profcasts story. Podcast is a radio program that is stored in a digital from that you can download from the internet and play on a computer or on a MP3 player. The teacher told us to make a group of 4 and discuss about this story. Next, We did some activities in the handout. we read about music news and views CD and vinyl. I used the skimming skill for read the story. It make me read very fast for reading and making comprehension.

In this class, I found a lot of difficult words. But I tried to solve this problem by using an internet and fine them on Cambridge online dictionary and asking my friend.

I used previewing, skimming, scanning, and finding references skill for reading.

Natural Disaster (Continue)

      On 28th Sunday, we had made up the class so we were continued studying about " Natural Disaster " from the third week.

The teacher told us to read news story about "Japan Earthquake : Tsunami hits north-east" and explain about this news for my friends. And then we was answer the question in the handout. We had using Scanning for answer The question.
After that The teacher told us to write unfamiliar words and find them on English Dictionary. So I used "www.cambridgeenglish.org/" to search these words for this time.

      There are many words I had search for example :
- coolant (n.)/ˈkuː.lənt/
a specially prepared liquid that is used to stop a machine from getting too hot while it is operating
- radioactive (adj.)/ˌreɪ.di.əʊˈæk.tɪv/
having or producing the energy that comes from the breaking up of atoms

long or longer than usual
- magnitude (n.) /ˈmæɡ.nɪ.tʃuːd/​
the large size or importance of something
- devastated (adj.)/ˈdev.ə.steɪ.tɪd/
completely destroyed.

      Next, We are going to read “California fires: Evacuation orders given to 13,000 people” news The teacher explained us about how to write  the headline in full sentence so I used the skimming and scanning to read for comprehended the story.

      About this class I had found a lot of difficult words so I started search these words by using online dictionary from my smartphone. I think this is another good way for learning English by technology and to day I used Previewing, Skimming, Scanning, and Finding references to read for this class.
