On Monday 23rd January, I continued learned about recount and narrative from the last week. Today was the makeup class because of the Monday 13th was a holiday. The teacher was a bit tired, she told us she was didn't rest on her conference vacation.

Next, After the teacher checked our names. She would like us to talk with friends about "what did I do on weekend?". So, I told my friends that I went to the volunteer camp at Banhuaibong school. I did a lot of activities. I painted the English and Thai letter on the ground and BBL. It was very good activities.

After that, the teacher gave us the collective feedback in the hand out that she assigned in the last week. It was the exercise 3 that was "An Excursion to the Botanic Gardens".

Next, It was the exercise 4 that had two texts. Then, the teacher gave the corrective feedback and read the texts for us to understood the texts. She gave us the corrective feedback again about the factual recount. It was the news report about 'The arresting if Vietnamese who was stealing'.
Then, we read the texts that was the police report about "Investigation report" and the teacher told us to make a group and summarized the texts. After that, one of each group were represent the story that they summarized in front of the class. Then, she told us to answer the questions and gave the corrective feedback to us. This activity, the teacher searched some words the were difficult such as : > irresponsible (adj.) /ˌɪr.ɪˈspɒn.sə.bəl/ = not thinking enough or not worrying about the possible results of what you do
> cunning (adj.) /ˈkʌn.ɪŋ/ = Cunning people are clever at planning something so that they get what they want, especially by tricking other people, or things that are cleverly made for a particular purpose
> dishonest (adj.) /dɪˈsɒn.ɪst/ = not honest

After that, the teacher gave us the handout that  was "Narrative". She explained about narrative and told us that she would taught us by using the activities to bring us to the lesson. It was a story named "Secrets" by Tim Winton. So, she told us to  do the activity that was "Put a cross in the line in the circle, at an appropriate point, to show how you felt as a child" the scale goes from 0(not at all) - 6(very much). After that, she asked us "What is this story?". So, it made me to predict the story that we were going to read after this. About me I think this story was told about the story of childhood that was about he/she had something that he/she didn't told to the parents. At the end of the class, the teacher assigned us to read the stories part 1 and part 2 for homework.

I think the exercise 3 and 4 were quite easy for me because I could do it correctly.

I found some words that I didn't know about the meaning but I solve this problem by using the website diction and asking my friends.

Recount

On Monday 16th January, this is the second periods that we learned about 'Recount' lesson.
After I came to the class, I  shocked that the air conditioner didn't work. So, the teacher told us to opened the windows and took a break for a while to wait the technician came to fix the air conditioner. It finally works again and then we continued to learn about recount lesson.
First, the teacher told us to read the example about news of sport in the handout. It had three topics of this news including "Text organization, News's title, and Language features".
Then, the teacher explained about three topics and after that, she told us to analyze the relation of the text organization, story, and language features.
Next, she told us to underline the specific word in the news that was about the hockey competition in the final round between Gerringong and Warilla.
Then, she told us to do the exercise 1 that was about analyzing the text that was about the personal recount.
During that time, the maid came into the room and told the teacher to turn off the light because the technician came and fixed the air conditioner again. So, we wait until the problem was resolved and the maid came in again to told us that everything was ok and we can use the air conditioner too. It made me felt good but inside of the room was still hot. So, we opened the windows and continued to learn again.

Then, the teacher continued explained about recount lesson and then she told us to find "What is Toraja" and she opened The Toraja on the website. Then, she told us to read the text in exercise 2 that was "My Grandpa's Funeral in Toraja".
During we were read the text, the teacher searched the words that we didn't know about the meaning such as:

> orientation (n.) /ˌɔːr.i.enˈteɪ.ʃən/ = the particular things that a person prefers, believes, thinks, or usually does.
> sandalwood (n.) /ˈsæn.dəl.wʊd/ = the hard light-coloured wood of a tree that grows in Southeast Asia and Australia, or the pleasant-smelling oil from this tree.
> corpse (n.) /kɔːps/ = a dead body, usually of a person.

After we were finished about reading, I answered the questions. Then, the teacher gave us the corrective feedback. And she taught us to wrote the dialog from two phases.

At the end of the class, the teacher told us to do another exercise for the homework and she told us to write the recount about the past experience that was interesting into my weblog.

I think the exercise 1 was quite easy for me because it had the example and I could do that as well.

I found some words that I haven't seen before. So, I solved this problem by using the online dictionary and asking my friends about the words.

I used the text organization and Language features to analyze the texts.

I feel a bit confused and tried for this period.

On Monday 17th October, We started the class by "extensive reading". The teacher asked about ''what is the extensive reading?" and do you often read in English for your private study?"

Next, I did pre-reading 2. It was about how useful is reading alone in developing the language skills?. The teacher also searched the words and we repeat the sound.

Extensive : covering a large area,having a great range.
Develop : to grow or change into more advanced, larger,or stronger from.
Development : the process in which someone or something grows or changes and becomes more advanced.
Developing : A developing country or area of the world is poorer and has less advanced industries, especially in Africa, Latin America, or Asia

After that, we learned about " research". Me and my friends wrote the words the words on the whiteboard and she told us to read the topic "simply read" and write the summaries of each paragraphs.

Summarizing of each paragraphs was very difficult for me because I didn't get this point enough. But I solve this problem by talk with my friends about this topic and I also found that the comprehension exercise was easy for me.

I used the  previewing, finding references, and making inferences for reading the text in this class.
